Cycle 15 Day 2

We only have to blog on Fridays now but I neglected to do it because I was working on 3ds Max on Friday and I forgot to do it so I'm finishing it now. Throughout the whole week last week we worked on Microsoft access and 3ds Max. Microsoft access is a database tool for gathering and understanding all your information—your phone numbers, inventory, guest lists, whatever you’re tracking—and providing a convenient way to enter, navigate, and report out your data. And 3ds Max is basically the go to tool for creating 3d models and environments. Mrs.Vaughn gave us multiple access assignments and we had to watch tutorial videos on 3ds max. I got both done for what we had to do, but I have one more access assignment to do.

Cycle 13 Summary

Day 1 in IST Mike and I fixed a computer given to us by Austin from CADD. The motherboard has bad PCI ports. We fixed it for the time being by tightening the graphics card in a suitable spot. This is not a permenant fix but for now it is saving Austin the cost of a new motherboard entirely. We also today watched a documentary featuring a man and another group of people, all of which were made up by one woman living out a life online, one of which she wished she could have. She made 15 Facebook profiles in total featuring fake people, it was pretty strange to watch. I did not do the CSS work today but I plan to do it after school.

Day 3: I wasn't in shop because I had a bad stomach bug and I was throwing up a lot.

Day 5 and 7: On both of these days  I worked furiously on the CSS work

Day 5 and 6 Cycle 11

I am still in ISS and will not be back to IST until next Wednesday because we have a long weekend and I have got most of my website done while I am in ISS. All I have left is to add the tutorials to my website and it will be 100% done.

Cycle 11 Day 4

Today I was put in In school suspension for three days for racism... I'd rather not explain what happened because it was rather stupid, But I will be back to shop on Monday. Also I learned that proxy's can be very helpful when in ISS and can make the time in there go by a lot quicker than it actually is.

Cycle 11 day 3

Today In IST we worked on our tutorials for how to setup and and connect as a client of and FTP server. Also we learned how to host our own web server with abyss. I was working on the tutorials most of the day and got 2 of them done. Then I made the actual website to host on abyss with dream weaver. Today I also learned more formulas in excel when Mrs.Vaughn taught us. I want to learn more about CS5 Dreamweaver and I want to get better at making websites.

Cycle 11 Day 1

Today we started stuff on FTP servers. Like hosting one and connecting to one as a client to transfer files. We also have to do a tutorial on how to setup a host FTP server. And how to connect to the host as a client. When we first started learning how to setup the servers no one really knew how to including myself. But after Mr. Sid showed us it was fairly easy to do. Once we had the servers up connecting to them was much simpler and only took Steve and I a minute or two. I want to learn more about Internet protocols and how they became protocols that are important. Overall today was good and I learned and put to use of what I learned. Only if academics was as useful of what I learn in shop...

Cycle 9 Day 10

Today in IST we took a Skills USA test that was 70 questions and questioned you about your trade and other areas of knowledge, such as math and science. also we did a lesson on VNC or Virtual Networking Computing. VNC was very interesting to learn about and it will be something I want to learn more into later. Also I learned about remote desktop connection on windows based computers. I want to learn more about VNC just because it can be very helpful with making a network. And it will be easier to manage. Overall today was a good day I was productive and got all the work done I had to do today.

Today in IST I prepared for the debate tomorrow on what web browser is the best. I got put in the group for Google chrome which is one of my favorite browsers besides Firefox. I have found out that Google chrome might be faster than Firefox but it doesn't have as good as security as Firefox. which is a concern because I don't want to get any malicious software on my computer. Anyways I think we have a good chance of winning the debate because my group and I are well prepared to discuss why our browser is the best. Steve, Mike, and Alfredo are in my group so I know I can trust them with being ready for this. Today I learned that Firefox has better security than Google chrome as I said before. I want to learn more about the coding that browser's are built on. Today I was productive and I got all my work done even though we had a substitute teacher and I was on task through out the whole day.

Cycle 9 Day 3&4

On both these days in IST we worked in Microsoft excel with Mrs.Vaughn and I helped Steve Change from his cooler master case to his smaller NZXT case for his water cooling project. Also I worked on my internet research paper on Thursday and now I'm pretty much done with it I just have to print it and hand it in. On Friday we went down to H.V.A.C to get zip ties for Steve's water cooling project. Overall for both Thursday and Friday I got a decent amount of work done. But next week I intend to do a lot more.

Cycle 9 Day 2

Today we went on production to KAPCO. KAPCO is a company that distributes O'rings for commercial airlines and who ever else needs O'rings. While we were at KAPCO we were presented with a lot of information about the business world and networking. The main I.T. guy there Jay was explaining how they recently moved to virtual pc's instead of massive servers. this way is more efficient and cost effective. plus it takes up way less space. Before we left, we were given server hardware and other computer hardware. Overall today was a good day and I learned a lot.

Cycle 9 Day 1

Today in IST we started a research paper on the Internets origin, protocols, different features, the future of the internet. and browsers, sercurity and safety. Also we reviewed on what we did last cycle and Mr.Sid told us our grades one by one. Today I learned about different internet protocols such TCP, UDP, and IP. I want to learn more about how networks work and how to make them really secure. Overall today was a good day and I got a lot done on  my research paper.

Last friday we had a shop party before our week off for Christmas vacation.
